Gilligator – Fish Breathing Device

Gilligator - Fish Breathing Device

In aquariums with thousands of fish, it is common to perform fish surgeries. Many aquariums have limited space and staff and in order to keep fish sedated as well as keep a constant flow of water on their gills, an extra vet is required to hold a tube and move it across both sets of gills. The Gilligator is a mouthpiece designed to keep the tube in place and stand up to sharp teeth. The sides of the device keep water inside the fish’s mouth and flowing in the direction of the gills. It can bend and flex to accommodate different sizes and types of fish. It attaches easily to a spraying head that can control the pressure of the water and attach to a hose. This would help reduce the need for an addition veterinarian and allow better breathing for the fish.
